gdgt, community site for gadget lovers
gdgt.com just launched today and it got a huge rush of traffic which caused it to be down for the first couple hours. gdgt is a site for people to interact around the gadgets they love. It has a extensive gadget database that literally has every product spec all the way down to the Bluetooth specifications for laptops. They have a decent amount of gadgets in the database and they’re looking to the community to fill in the rest.
For each product, users can different kind of discussions from support to tips/tricks or just general talk. They can also link to “trusted” review sites or even have user reviews. I think this is a great feature as it consolidates all the different reviews into one place. When I look for stuff I want to buy, I normally end up searching in google for reviews and I end up missing some.
